Job Description:
Summary:
Assigns work for PT, Owner Operator and outside company trailer
drivers for conveyance of freight by performing the following
duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
? Assign Drivers, Carriers and equipment as Planner devised
assuring success.
? Works closely with the Planner to ensure all drivers and Carriers
are assigned to a load within HOS Compliance.
? Issues manifest and all related paper work to drivers.
? Creates trips in TruckMate when necessary.
? Updates status time of arrival and departure at Shipper/Consignee
in TruckMate according to established SOP?s.
? Trouble shooting and notifying appropriate parties of any changes
to delivery times, arrival times, or any items having an impact on
operations.
? Responsible for updating current statuses of all equipment in
TruckMate according to established SOP?s.
? Works with Fleet Maintenance to schedule equipment for Service
and PMs when necessary.
? Notifies Dedicated fleet administration department of any changes
that could have material impact on financials; i.e. returning or
renting equipment, adding or terminating drivers, assigning or
collecting fuel cards, etc.
? Ensures all Driver packets are turned in completely and
efficiently with all proper trip documents.
? Assures information in TruckMate is as exactly as the Driver
manifest to safeguard their accurate pay.
? Directs activities of drivers via cell phone.
? Confers with customers as needed.
? Responsible for Owner Operators? stability and service.
? Other duties as assigned.
Goals and Objectives:
A Dispatcher?s objective is to stay updated in TruckMate at all
times by using the system correctly and completely at all times.
TruckMate is a real time system designed to properly plan drivers
on loads and protect on time service to the customer. The
Dispatcher ensures 100% on-time deliveries and pick-ups with
maximum driver retention rate along with total control of the
Trailer Pool at all times.

A successful Dispatcher will dispatch every driver on time as
planned in the system and will also ensure each driver is calling
in with pertinent information, such as trailers, status updates and
any changes or challenges with their trips which will be updated in
the system by adding notes. The dispatcher is required to update
the system a minimum of 3 times per day, at the following
intervals: at the beginning of the shift, mid-shift, and at the end
of the shift so that a proper handoff is provided to centralized
support. The Dispatchers are tracked through a KPI board, and the
color coding should constantly be green, and should not turn red.
It is the Dispatcher?s responsibility to review their work, and if
system information does not appear correct, it is their
responsibility to reach out for immediate assistance. The
Dispatcher?s performance will be measured by their ability to keep
the system accurate and updated.
A Centralized support Dispatcher objective is to keep the system
updated throughout the night and weekend for all dedicated fleet
buildings including B14, B16, B101, B102, & B103.

Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to
three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of education and experience.
